Whether you're looking for free things to do with kids in the Bay Area, a reason to finally check out that splash pad, or just trying to survive summer without losing your mind , this a great place to start.

Here are 10 things to do with Bay Area Kids in June. Let's GO!

1. Play on the Bay — Free Family Event at Fisherman's Wharf | June 6

Free | Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco

Mark your calendars: Play on the Bay is a free, family-friendly event at Fisherman's Wharf on June 6 and it's exactly the kind of low-effort, high-payoff outing we live for.

Think waterfront vibes, tons of activities for kids, and great day in SF.

3. SF Zoo: Free Weekday Admission for Kids 11 & Under — All of June

Free for Kids | San Francisco Zoo

Wait. The San Francisco Zoo is offering free weekday admission for kids 11 and under all month long?! Yes. This is not a drill.

This is one of those deals you want to take advantage of before it's gone. The SF Zoo is genuinely great with giraffes, penguins, a carousel, a nature play area and it hits different when admission is free.

4. Summer Family Fun at Filoli — Kids Go Free

Kids Free (Limited Time) | Filoli, Woodside, CA

If you haven't taken your kids to Filoli yet, June is the time to do it.

Filoli is one of those places that's genuinely beautiful for all ages, with 16 acres of gardens, a historic estate, and so much room for kids to roam. Our favorite area to explore is the Redwoods where you'll find a giant troll you can climb into and various nature play spaces.

This is a Bay Area day trip worth loading the kids in the car for. 🚗💨

Location: Woodside, CA | Get tickets + details here

5. Water Parks & Splash Pads Are Open for Summer

Bay Area Splash Pads + Water Parks

The splash pads are OPEN and the water parks are calling. Summer in the Bay Area means it's finally time to load up the swim bag and find some water.

6. U-Pick Strawberry Season Is Here 🍓

Bay Area U-Pick Farms

Summer is not summer without a u-pick strawberry outing. And the good news is the season is HERE.

There is something about letting kids loose in a strawberry field that just works. They're focused, they're happy, and they eat their body weight in strawberries before you even make it back to the car. It counts as an outing and a snack. 10/10.

We rounded up the best u-pick strawberry farms near the Bay Area so you can find the one closest to you.

7. Gabby's Dollhouse Fairylandia Tour at Golden Gate Park | June 27–28

Golden Gate Park, San Francisco | June 27 & 28

Gabby's Dollhouse fans — this one is FOR YOU.

The Gabby's Dollhouse Fairylandia Tour is coming to the Gardens of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on June 27 and 28, and if you have a little one obsessed with Gabby and all her paw-some friends, this is a must-do summer outing.

8. Free Family Day at SF MOMA | June 14

Free | San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a free museum day in San Francisco might be one of the most underrated parenting wins there is.

SF MOMA is offering Free Family Day on June 14 with interactive art, hands-on activities, and world-class exhibits, all without the usual admission price.

9. Cherry Jubilee at Gilroy Gardens | June 5 – July 5

Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park | Gilroy, CA

The Cherry Jubilee at Gilroy Gardens is one of those South Bay summer traditions that Bay Area families come back to year after year, and this year it runs from June 5 through July 5.

Rides, seasonal cherry-themed treats, live entertainment, and the kind of theme park that's perfectly sized for little kids who aren't quite ready for the big parks. If you're looking for a Bay Area summer day trip with kids, Gilroy Gardens delivers every time.

Dates: June 5 – July 5 | Location: Gilroy, CA | Get tickets here

🌳 Stern Grove Festival -- happening June through August

The iconic Stern Grove Festival kicks off in June and runs all summer. Think free outdoor concerts tucked into one of San Francisco's most beautiful natural amphitheaters. Bring a blanket, bring snacks, and let the kids roam. This is the move.

✊🏾 Juneteenth Celebrations & Parades

Juneteenth (June 19) is a moment for community, history, and celebration — and the Bay Area does it beautifully. Look for official Juneteenth celebrations, parades, and festivals happening in San Francisco, Oakland, and across the region:
