10. Gardens of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco

The Gardens of Golden Gate Park are absolutely stunning in May — lush, blooming, and honestly one of the most beautiful places to spend a day with kids in the entire Bay Area. SF residents get free admission to the Botanical Garden year-round, and a Gardens Pass lets you visit all three gardens at a discount. It's a slow, beautiful, and genuinely restorative outing.
