MUNI Heritage Weekend

Muni Heritage Weekend, happening from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sept. 19-20, celebrates the transit system that has connected San Francisco since 1912. Enjoy free rides on rare historic vehicles and other fun activities. We proudly present this event in partnership with the Market Street Railway. Muni Store Pop-Up: Shop Muni merchandise, including items not yet available online. Community Partners: Meet organizations from across the Bay Area that help preserve, support, and celebrate public transit. Muni Diaries Pacific Bus Museum San Francisco Cable Car Museum San Francisco City Guides: Continue the transit adventure with the "Cable Cars: Halfway to the Stars" walking tour in Nob Hill. Advance registration required at the City Guides website. Free rides depart throughout the day from Embarcadero Plaza and the San Francisco Railway Museum area. Boarding locations, routes, and live vehicle locations can be found on the Heritage Fun Map during the event. Ride lengths vary by vehicle: Streetcars and buses: About 45 minutes Bus and streetcar passengers may board or exit at PIER 39 (Embarcadero & Stockton Street) when space is available.
